Before GitHub, SourceForge has been a strong advocate of open source development. Lots of famous projects today started out as SourceForge projects there. It has helped a lot of open source developers to become successful today. Unfortunately, since the introduction of GitHub, SourceForge’s business model becomes out-dated and behind the curve. These news sound like the stories of how Darth Vader turned to dark side in the Star War movies. The article demonstrates the concern and disappointment about the future of SourceForge.
